“The nation is shattered.
Mountains and rivers remain.”

— Du Fu,
8th-century Zen poet

A live Deep Dive with Henry

A Deep Dive is an immersive, multi-week experience of live practice and teaching with Henry, built around a specific text or poem. For Mountains & Rivers Remain, we’ll explore the words of Du Fu, an 8th-century Zen poet who lived through turbulent times and discovered two worlds: a human one of chaos and upheaval, and another of our underlying awakened nature, exemplified by the natural world.

Over three weeks, you’ll gather with Henry and a community of fellow practitioners for extended guided meditations, dharma talks, and Q&A. This poem becomes a lens through which to explore your practice, giving you something concrete to return to again and again. It’s your opportunity to move from solo practice to shared practice, and to experience Henry’s guidance in real time.

A note from Henry

Amidst crisis, war, and civil uncertainty, Du Fu saw two worlds—one of chaos and upheaval, the other of nature’s steady presence, which exemplifies the turbulence-free fundamental nature we all share. He learned to live in both, to find resilience and peace despite external conditions.

Can meditation practice help us do the same? Can it offer clarity in a world that feels overwhelming?

The answer is a resounding yes. Zen and meditation are not philosophy—they offer a real practical path to resilience, clarity, and inner peace. And that’s exactly what this Deep Dive is designed to offer.

What to expect

Over three weeks, you’ll join Henry for three live two-hour Sunday sessions featuring:

  • Extended guided meditations (25-30 minutes) that let you fully settle into present moment experience
  • In-depth dharma talks bringing together ancient traditions, modern wisdom, and poetry in Henry’s unique style
  • Q&A periods where your practice questions get answered directly

You’ll stay connected throughout the Deep Dive via a dedicated WhatsApp group, creating a sense of community throughout your shared journey.

Regulate your nervous system and discover the peace that’s always available to us

Peace reveals itself in two ways.

One arises through practice—regulating the nervous system, cultivating mindfulness, and opening the heart. In this space, we find presence, connection, and moments of effortless flow.

And on the other hand, there’s a radically different kind of peace we can discover. It’s a peace that “passes all understanding.” It’s a peace that is always here, unconditional, beyond self and other, that some claim as primordial, predating everything else, yet which we can actually tap into here and now.

This course explores how meditation can help us find resilience and peace amidst life’s turbulence. We’ll open the door to a deeper dimension of peace, an ever-present, non-dual awareness that transcends circumstances and reveals an unconditional sense of well-being.

What you’ll learn from Henry

  • Simple, effective meditation techniques to soothe anxiety
  • How to access a compassionate awareness that’s always present
  • Opening to self-love and deepening your inner kindness
  • Feeling more connected to others and less isolated
  • Tapping into flow states that bring calm and clarity
  • Experiencing glimpses of non-dual awareness, unlocking an unconditional well-being

What I like most about sitting with Henry during his Sunday sessions is his welcoming attitude, his acceptance of me as a practitioner. No matter what I’m bringing on any particular day, I’m welcome and my practice is good enough for that moment.
